Gus Malzahn called him, "the sharpest offensive mind I have ever
been around." When Chris Wood comes to town success is not far
behind. He has been a part of 4 State Championship teams during
his 10 year coaching career. In 5 years as a Head Coach he has
complied a record of 41-20-1 and has a State Championship and two
State Semi-Finals appearances. He was selected to lead the Har-Ber
Wildcat program in January of 2006. He coaches quarterbacks in

2006- Present: In their first year as a varsity proram the Wildcats had some
bumps in the road. In 2006 they ended the season 2-8 but made some
improtant strides toward the future. In 2007 the investment in the future paid
off for Chris Woods' Wildcats. Har-Ber won the prestigious 7A West Conference
Championship and fell in the State Championship Game to neighboring
Fayetteville. Nonetheless, it was an incredible feat to reach Little Rock in only
their second year of varsity action.

2005: He returned to Northwest Arkansas to reunite with Gus Malzahn and once
again become his Offensive Coordinator at 5A powerhouse Springdale High
School. Wood was an integral part of what many call the greatest team
Arkansas has ever seen. The 2005 Bulldogs compiled a 14-0 record and cruised
to the 5A State Championship.

2004: He then accepted the position as Head Coach of the Nashville Scrappers
where he lead them to a 13-1 record and the State Semifinals.

2001-2003: Wood returned to Shiloh Christian as the Head Coach and lead the
Saints to yet another State Title in his first year. Just two years later Wood lead
the Saints back to the brink of a title only to lose to Pulaski Academy in the
State Semifinals. Coach Wood compiled a 26-12-1 record as the Head Coach.

2000: Wood took a job as the Offensive Coordinator at Austin High in Austin,
Texas where in his first and only year he was an integral part of reviving the
program and helping lead them to the playoffs.

1997-1999: He joined Gus Malzahn at Shiloh Christian High School serving as
Offensive Coordinator during a remarkable 44-1 stretch that yielded 2 State
Titles in 1998 and 1999 and a State Runner Up finish in 1997.
